In the years 1939/40, 55 three-cylinder machines of the 01.10 series were built. Equipped with streamlined cladding, the air resistance was already drastically reduced in the wind tunnel. Driving tests confirmed the assumption that the machines could easily reach 150 km / h and that the effective pulling force on the hook was increased by almost 50%. Since the engine's cooling was impaired by the initial full fairing and the engine was only very difficult to access for maintenance work, the fairing of the class 01.10 was soon shortened below the perimeter.
